The PilotMill jetmills series is designed and developed in order to offer to our customers equipments that may allow maximal flexibility, starting from R&D activities and also including pre-production tests and small production campaigns, assuring complete scalability to the industrial process.


The PilotMill jetmills series represents the result of an unparalleled optimisation study that involved the milling chamber, the nozzles and the classifier. All connections of components have been done in order to be in compliance with cGMPs to assure quick and easy assembling and disassembling operations. The number of components has been reduced at minimum in order to make easier and faster also cleaning and validation activities.

ProMill jetmills are available in two configurations, cosmetic/chemical and pharmaceuticals, to better fit different requirements.


The PilotMill-2 jetmill is designed for product research and developments needs, where batches from 1 g to 3 kg are considered. In function of these process condition, the PilotMill-2 jetmill has been designed to assure higher micronized product yield. It is available in top discharge configuration with product recovery inside the filtering bag to further maximise product yield.

The PilotMill-3 jetmill still more indicated for R&D activities, can start micronising batch sizes as low as 3 g with extremely contained product loss and can micronise batches up to approx. 10kg. It is available in top and bottom discharge configurations, to better fit different needs.

The PilotMill-4 jetmill is designed for product developments needs, where batches from 5 g to 60 kg are considered . It is available in top and bottom discharge configurations, to better fit different needs.

The PilotMill-5 jetmill is designed for product developments needs and small production campaigns, where batches from 100 g to 100 kg are considered . It is available in top and bottom discharge configurations, to better fit different needs.

All the equipments included in the PilotMill jetmills series may be easily integrated into glove box systems to allow the process of very high active or sterile products.

PilotMill jetmills are also available in ATEX configuration.

Special configuration i.e. with PTFE or ceramic inserts/lining, in Hastelloy and others are available upon request.

(*) Productivity data depends on many different variables, such as initial and final PSD, crystalline structure, humidity, tendency to cake, static charges, etc. The productivity indicated is an average level applied to pharmaceuticals powders. For food, cosmetic, chemical, mineral powders the productivity is normally higher. The best way to define productivity is to perform micronisation trial at our Test Center.
