09/10/2007 - Q-MILLS – THE CLEAN ALTERNATIVE TO ME

The name QMill is given by their Q-form and these jet mills are perfectly complementary to spiral jet mills that are typically used to micronise powders from D50 between 200-300micron down to D50 between 1-15 micron in pharmaceutical applications.

Why the Q-Mills represent a valid and clean alternative to mechanical mills ?

Because

  • They work in a closed system without generating any dust on their outside
  • They are light weighted, easy and rapid to assemble-disassemble for cleaning
  • They are made in AISI316L with regular and smooth surfaces mirror polished to Ra<0.25µm
  • They allow a very easy cleaning and its validation, hence shortest turnover

QMills, just as spiral jet mills, are working with compressed gas ( typically air or nitrogen)  that accelerates the particles of the product creating collisions between them and so reducing  their dimension and increasing their specific surface. 

The final result of micronization occurs in absence of any mechanical part with these advantages:

·         No frictions, nor increase of temperature (endothermic process) that saves the characteristic of thermo-sensitive products

·         No metal contamination

·         No maintenance required

QMills are available in different dimensions for laboratory, pilot or production applications.

They utilize air and nitrogen starting from 2 bar up to 12 bar with very low consumptions and very high yields.

QMills are available with dosing unit,  separation cyclone with primary filtration, product and balance line, control panel and final filtration as an option.

They can be easily and rapidly interchanged with spiral jet mills in the same Layout.

They are available in numerous options and solutions, as well as integrated into isolators and with cryogenic configurations.

At our test centre in Fiorenzuola d’Arda it is possible to perform technical trials with your product.
