The LaboMill and the PilotMill-1 jetmills, together with LaboFeeder feeding system, are F.P.S. answer to R&D lab needs when it comes to very initial stages of development when only extremely small "microgram batch sizes" are available. This very limited amounts of material - starting from 200 mg - ask for the use of very special equipments designed and developed via a "miniaturization" process.

Being the spiral jet mill micronization process based on two main parameters to obtain the necessary productivity and Particle Size Distribution (PSD), i.e. gas pressure and feed rate, the latter must be constant and precise to obtain reliable and scalable results. For this purpose we have developed in-house the LaboFeeder able to constantly and precisely feed extremely small amounts of powder.

Despite the reduced dimensions, the LaboMill and PilotMill-1 are able to assure full scalability of micronisation process with other FPS jetmills. The PSD (Particle Size Distribution) and product characteristics obtained with the LaboMill and PilotMill-1 could be scaled up and be reproduced on larger FPS Pilot and Production systems.

The LaboMill and PilotMill-1 jet mills may be easily integrated within a F.P.S. isolator system for the safe handing and processing of high potent or toxic products.
